In addition to serving the needs of seniors in NCPHS residential communities, Senior Services for Northern California provides funding for innovative, culturally sensitive community services programs that enhance the health and well-being of older adults throughout the Bay Area.
San Francisco Senior Center
Founded in 1947, the San Francisco Senior Center is the nation’s oldest nonprofit senior center, offering classes, workshops, fitness programs, nutritious lunches, and critical social services to older adults at its Aquatic Park and Downtown Centers. Learn More.
Living at Home and Services Connection
The Living at Home Program connects social workers with seniors and disabled adults to help them gain access to available health, financial, and other support services. Through the Services Connection Program, NCPHS social workers help residents in the San Francisco Housing Authority’s senior and disabled housing communities gain access to the services they need to remain self-sufficient and housed. AARP Experience Corps® Marin
AARP Experience Corps® Marin trains, places, and provides on-going support to adults 50 and older who serve as reading and literacy tutors and mentors to elementary school students in low-performing Marin County schools. Learn More.

Community Services Fund
The NCPHS Community Services Fund provides support to social service, outreach, and wellness programs serving low-income vulnerable seniors—most of whom do not reside in any of our communities. The Community Services Fund supports San Francisco Senior Center, Living at Home and Services Connection, and AARP Experience Corps® Marin. You can also designate your gift to benefit one of these programs. Each of NCPHS’ affordable housing communities has its own fund, as well.
The Tomorrow Fund provides confidential support for residents in our continuing care retirement communities who have outlived their financial resources. Learn More.
Employee Emergency Relief Fund
Through our Employee Emergency Relief Fund, the NCPHS community comes together to help our dedicated staff when they need it most. Learn More.
NCPHS Unrestricted Fund
The NCPHS Unrestricted Fund supports areas of greatest need within all NCPHS communities and programs. You can also designate unrestricted fund gifts to specific NCPHS residential communities which include Western Park Apartments, Eastern Park Apartments, Town Park Towers, The Woods, The Sequoias–San Francisco, The Sequoias–Portola Valley and The Tamalpais.
Health Center Funds
Health Center Funds provide special programs, equipment, and amenities for residents who live in Health Centers or Assisted Living units at The Tamalpais, The Sequoias–San Francisco and The Sequoias–Portola Valley.
